Our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team supports pupils by equipping them with the tools and skills they need to achieve their full potential.
Ysgol Greenhill is an inclusive environment where we support pupils to grow and thrive into successful young adults. Our ALN team works closely with pupils that have specific learning needs, and with staff, in order to develop effective strategies to support the learning needs of all pupils.
Interventions - Literacy, Numeracy, social communication (TAMARR7 and TAMARR+) and Learning Coaches
Literacy and Numeracy
Within the ALN department we have Literacy and Numeracy support. The intervention programmes help to develop and improve these areas so pupils can utilise their skills within their mainstream lessons. Pupils are identified via screening results and referrals from their class teachers.
TAMARR7
This provision provides an enhanced transition for pupils in year 7.
Predominantly following nurture principles - the aim of the provision is to support pupils in areas ranging from self-esteem, emotional understanding, communication, social interaction and behaviour management.
We offer a check in facility every morning where pupils are met with a positive, warm and welcoming environment to start their school day.
TAMARR7 pupils will access timetabled interventions during their school week as well as having access to the TAMARR7 room every break and lunch time.
With the help of our staff, pupils will develop their own learning plans and identify strategies to use within the classroom.
Pupils are encouraged to set their own targets in order to take responsibility for their own progress.
This wrap around support ensures that pupils get a tailored intervention in areas of need specific to them.
